Skincare gift set for her small business purchase

8 Ways to Support Small Businesses (even without a purchase!)

How to support small businesses

As a small business owner, my business cards say "Chief Everything Officer" because I mostly do everything myself (with the exception of my husband who is the Chief Shipping Officer (a.k.a. makes runs to the post office), and now a wonderful intern who is helping me while growing her work portfolio!

So when you buy a gift set, I enjoy putting that together, creating your personalized note (if you leave a note in the purchase comments), and tying everything up with a nice bow. I imagine the recipient opening the box and wondering, "What IS this 'noofah'?" and the gift-giver telling the product story and why they bought it. Personally, I love giving gifts with a special story that I think will delight the recipient.

"Small Business Saturday" is a reminder that shopping "small" is a really big deal, not just to the store owner but to the buyer and the recipient.

Here are ways you can support small business all year:

  1. Follow, share, and "like" social posts

  2. Leave positive reviews

  3. Spread the word about your friend's small business or that cute local shop (word of mouth is golden!)

  4. Attend craft fairs, holiday bazaars and vendor festivals and discover local artisans right in your hometown!

  5. Eat at the locally-owned cafe or restaurant

  6. Buy gift cards

  7. Pay in cash or Zelle (credit cards, Venmo, Paypal, etc. all have 3% fees)

  8. Shop Amazon Handmade and Etsy (though they do have steep commission fees for sellers)

It's understandable that we can't shop small all the time, and that's why every purchase really counts. I'm so grateful for all those who have supported Noofah Body Care online, in person and at vendor shows. Thank you for being here!
